Beautiful hiking and biking tour in County Donegal.
“My husband and I took the bike and hike tour through County Donegal. We are so glad that we booked the trip with Seamus and Nora. Everything was exceptionally well-organized from length of bikes and hikes to transportation, B&B locations, and technology and resources provided! We loved having the GPS pre-loaded with routes along with a turn-by-turn. We could easily share the navigation and stop for a history lesson provided in the well-written and detailed notes. The routes chosen were just right: quiet roads, some challenging climbs, exceptional scenery. We loved the mix of hiking and biking. And, as a bonus, we appreciated the great weather we were fortunate to enjoy during the trip! Thanks again Seamus and Nora for taking such great care of us and doing such a great job in organizing. We’ve taken several bike trips in different countries, and your trip was definitely the most well-organized with attention to every detail.”

“We are avid cyclists from Florida. My boyfriend and I just completed the causeway tour-8 day 7 night. It was wonderful. The countryside was amazing, the routes were rural, which as a cyclist was great. Lots of hills in Ireland. Scenery is amazing. I used the electric assist bike, my boyfriend, who is a much stronger cyclist used a regular bike. The bed and breakfast’s each night were perfect. Just remember to bring rain gear. Jacket, pants and shoe cover. It rained every day, some worse than others but we still enjoyed it very much and would do another tour with this company.”
One of our most enjoyable holidays ever. The scenery is spectacular. We loved the quiet roads. The local people in the cities, towns and villages were so friendly and hospitable.
Since I have been home, I have recommended your tours to all of my friends. The tour we picked was perfect for us. We took advantage of the two day stops to rest, visit local pubs, and see the villages.

This was my first time on a cycling vacation, and prior to training for this trip, I hadn’t been on a bike in close to 10 years. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. I gave excellent marks for the value for the money because of how nice it was to have the entire trip essentially planned out for us. To not have to deal with the hassle of booking, logistics, and hauling around gear and luggage was wonderful.
On the whole, I had a most amazing time, especially as we were blessed with gorgeous weather for most of the trip. All the B&Bs we stayed at were well kept, with wonderful hosts. Seamus and Nora were wonderfully responsive to any requests or concerns we had during the trip. The views were gorgeous at every turn, from the breath taking seaside cliffs at Port to the simple joy of seeing and smelling the gorse brightening all the roadsides and hillsides.
“This holiday was the perfect challenge; hills that were tough but pedal-able to the top, stunning scenery to distract us along the way, mostly quiet roads, lovely cafes, restaurants and B&Bs to revive us and friendly folk everywhere. Our two children (aged 10 and 7) loved the cycling adventure, and my partner (who is disabled) found this just the right amount of challenge with his electric bike. We did the ‘Treasures of Coast and Country over seven days and Nora and Seamus couldn’t have been more accommodating: finding us accessible accommodation and even rearranging some accommodation for us at late notice, making sure we had all the navigation tools we needed, and even giving us a lift to the restaurant one evening when our legs gave up! There were one or two sections along busy roads, which were a little hair-raising with my 7 year old, but other than that I would whole-heartedly recommend this holiday as a fantastic challenge for any family wanting an active holiday.”

The accommodations were top; better than I expected. It was nice meeting Seamus and Nora. The transfer of luggage was flawless. It was a tour to be remembered for life.
I would absolutely recommend Ireland by Bike to anyone cycling in Ireland and if I ever return to Ireland for any reason I would go cycling just because it was so great and easy with Ireland by Bike.
We really like Donegal County. Compared to the other places we went (Galway, Ring of Kerry, Dublin) it was much less crowded with tourists (ironic, coming from a tourist).
This tour was perfect for exploring the Atlantic coast. The small towns and restaurants had the best seafood ever! Biking allowed us to meet and talk with many people who were unbelievably friendly. Seamus was delightful and even tracked us down the second day when it was extremely rainy and windy to make sure that we did not want a ride to the next B&B. We would highly recommend this trip to both experienced and relatively novice bike riders.

This trip is magical, one of my best so far! My expectations were pretty high and it was even better than anticipated. I felt safe on the road with the combination of small road + GPS + map + Odometer. The bike was in good shape and I felt reassured that if I needed support you would be there for us. Mary and I have been on a number of bike trips in Germany, Italy, Spain and here at home all over in Switzerland but the trip you planned for us tops them all when it comes to discovering backroads and extraordinary landscapes, cozy and friendly accommodations and your personal care along our route. You obviously know the type of trails seasoned cyclists like and you chose the accommodation at B&Bs with friendly hosts we will never forget. It was my first trip to Ireland but it will not be the last. Many thanks to you and Nora for taking such good care of us, for your recommendations when it was raining and help when the dots did not line up on my ebike and for picking us up for special hiking to grand scenery we would not be able to reach by bike. We will be happy to recommend you and Ireland by Bike to anyone who loves an adventurous and out-of-the-ordinary cycling tour. I feel so blessed that at 76 I was able to enjoy the whole 15-day trip
The route was certainly hilly but this reflected the tour description. For me (aged 69) the route was tough going. However, there were sufficient options to make the routes less or more demanding according to fitness. I very much enjoyed the trip and would be happy to recommend it.
Everything from booking over the internet to meeting Nora on the morning of our departure, we were very impressed with everything. Although it was biking a self guided tour, it was great knowing that Seamus and Nora would help out if needed, checking in with us at the end of the first day to make sure that everything was good. Would definitely recommend to friends or family. Well organized, well done. Thankyou !

This was our first adventure vacation and I cannot imagine a better planned or better supported one. You did everything and more than what was advertised and we came away feeling it was worth every penny. The personal service, attention to detail, and willingness to help every customer is clear, excellent, and appreciated. We enjoyed meeting the other customers at the B&B’s or on the road, noting that they were all equally impressed with the experience.
We absolutely loved the trip and will highly recommend it to everyone. It was exactly what we wanted. The B and B’s were friendly but professional and very accomodating beyond our expectations. The scenery, routes and optional rides were all incredible. We could not have asked for a better experience.!

If you like to ride a bike and want to see a beautiful country, take this tour. It was my favourite vacation that I have ever taken. I highly recommend it!
We were so very sad to see it end—wonderful sights and even more, the people we met were a joy! We would recommend Ireland by Bike to anyone who wants to experience the best that Ireland has to offer. The logistics and information provided were practically seamless, the equipment top notch, and Seamus was only a text/call away if we needed support. This tour allowed us to see the landscape up close and at our own pace, enabling us to enjoy the things that mean the most to us.
