Description of Bicycles
Top of the range Thompson Enigma, or equivalent, electric bikes, featuring the powerful Bosch Active + drive system and high quality Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and gears. E-bikes are available in adult sizes only. Bike sizes are suitable for cyclists from 1.50 m (4′ 11″) upwards.
Description of Ebikes
Well maintained, 27-speed hybrid bicycles. Custom-built for Ireland by Bike in the Thompson bicycle factory in Belgium. Comfortable frame geometry and high quality Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and gears make these the perfect bike to explore Ireland’s varied cycling terrain.
Accessories Included
The following accessories included as standard with all rentals:
- Waterproof handlebar bag with map holder
- Waterproof rear pannier(s)
- Bike lock
- Emergency bicycle repair supplies
- Helmet if required (we recommend you bring your own if possible)
- High visibility vest if required. (We recommend you bring your own if possible)
- Water bottle holder
Water bottle not included. We recommend you bring your own reusable bottle.

Why Hire an E-Bike?
If you can cycle a bike, you can cycle an e-bike. The only difference is that e-bikes give you a lovely boost when you pedal, making it easy to cruise up those hills or cycle into the wind. Cycling suddenly becomes much more enjoyable and relaxing. Therefore, you can travel further without tiring yourself out. The range of our e-bikes is well over 50 km.
Pickup Location & Delivery Service
You can collect the bikes up from our shop in Carrick village (see map below). The area around Carrick is ideal for cycling, with many spectacular sights, including the Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) Sea Cliffs, pristine beaches and thousands of years of archaeology. For details, see
Alternatively, we are able to deliver and collect bikes throughout Northwest Ireland. Delivery is charged at €1.50 per kilometre.
